We all know that a child’s physical health, readiness to learn and general well-being starts with good nutrition. It also starts with comfortable shoes and happy feet.
I encourage you to take a trip down memory lane. Remember your years in kindergarten, preschool and early primary school. Were you wearing highly comfortable shoes that supported the activities you were asked to do, including running and walking? Or were you forced to wear uncomfortable shoes that slowed you down, felt uncomfortable, felt heavy and made you feel self-conscious?
By sending your kids to school in the right school shoes, kids and young people get a lot more than just comfort. A good shoe fit, together with the guidance of a trained podiatrist promotes better foot health, posture, and overall movements, which are essential for young people to stay fit, focused, happy and confident, no matter what their day brings.
As I am sure you know, quality school shoes also help prevent injuries, including sporting injuries. Quality school shoes also help your kids grow strong and remain healthier (even during their adult life). Good health and good health-longevity starts with young feet. It starts from the ground up.
Tips for buying school shoes:
- It is recommended to have your child’s foot measured regularly
- Ensure toes can wiggle freely in the shoes
- Allow 1cm between the big toe and the top of the shoe
- Seek guidance and shoe-fitting support from a trained podiatrist
